Shunt is an offense power-up that shoots a homing missile at nearby drivers. After a certain amount of time the missile will expire if it does not hit a car. Shunt does a large amount of damage and causes cars to rapidly slow down. When fired backwards it loses its homing capability. If a player is being tracked by the missile, a flashing red bar will appear behind their car. Any player can be hit by a missile, even if they are not being tracked by it. a missile can be avoided by out maneuvering it or just driving fast enough to allow it to expire. The missile can also be destroyed by firing a shunt missile backwards, by using barge when the missile is within range, or by shooting two bolts at the missile.

Shock is an offensive power-up, that fires three EMP fields in front of the race leader. EMP fields don't directly land on a player, however, they are difficult to avoid. If a player gets too close to a EMP field their car will instantly and dramatically slow down, but it will not stop the vehicle completely. Once a player is hit by a field, the field will disappear. Anyone, including the the player that activated the power-up, can be effected by an EMP field. If a player is near an EMP field their screen will turn blue. Shock can not be fired backwards.

Mine is an offensive power-up that creates a stationary explosive which detonates when a player hits it. Players can be hit by there own mine. It does a large amount of damage and quickly slows down a vehicle. When fired forward the mine is launched at extremely high speeds. If no player is hit, after a certain distance, it will become stationary like a regular mine. While mine is primarily an offensive weapon, they can block shunts and bolts. However, when a mine is hit with one of these power-ups they will explode. Barge also destroys mines.

Nitro is a defensive power-up that gives a player a burst of speed. It can also be fired backwards to activate air-brake. Air-brake puts a vehicle in a slowed state, which enhances the vehicle's steering, allowing a player to point their car in any direction before the speed boost activates.

Power-ups are special abilities that player can get on a track that they can use to assist them in a race. Icons are scattered in groups at particularly areas on a level and occasionly in random spots. The imagery and color of the icons indicate which power-up they contain. When a player hits an icon they get the power-up. Icons disappear when they are hit, but quickly respawn. Many modifications can be used that improve power-ups.
